Up and Over, or Over and Up?

Today’s geek question to ponder (assuming you finished your Data Structures homework and are caught up on your labs and bong hits…)

Is it better to develop a “rich” API stack and then build your contextual solutions on top of that, or better to build your contextual solutions from existing API stacks?  When is the work “up front” worth the pay off in the end?  Where is the tipping point?

RISC vs CISC

Object vs Procedure

Class vs Function

Go straight, turn Right vs turn Right and go straight
