I have a lot of AVI and MPG movies on my server. Waiting for the AppleTV to synch them before playing (it cannot fit them all, so it has to unload and upload quite often) is painfully dull and slow. Plugging the computer directly to the TV allows me to play iTunes content, as well as WMV, AVI/DivX/Xvid (which AppleTV cannot play) immediately and without waiting for an upload. Plus, I can surf the Internet. AppleTV does not expose the full YouTube experience either. It's a filtered view. I don't need the AppleTV anymore. It was nice but a direct PC-to-TV connection is much nicer.skatterbrainzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01375101979702884965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7801766992264242251.post-78742998961236155522008-11-30T11:16:00.000-05:002008-11-30T11:16:00.000-05:00No. I didn't. I know you think I'm not as bright as you, but I can read a manual.skatterbrainzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01375101979702884965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7801766992264242251.post-13389010074370175302008-11-30T11:01:00.000-05:002008-11-30T11:01:00.000-05:00I guess you missed the part about pairing it with ...I guess you missed the part about pairing it with your iTunes...

So for review...
Pairing with iTunes
After you set up your network connection, your TV screen displays a five-digit
passcode, which you’ll need to enter in iTunes to sync or stream content from your
computer to Apple TV.
To set up Apple TV with your iTunes library:
1
Open iTunes on your computer.
2
Select the Apple TV icon with “Click to set up” next to it in the Devices list.
3
Enter the 5-digit passcode from your TV screen.
After you enter your passcode, you can name your Apple TV and set up iTunes to
manage your content.
For more information about iTunes, open iTunes and choose Help > iTunes Help.

Oh BTW that may not work with illegally downloaded movies...Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06395891194756752085noreply@blogger.com
